PACKING TOTESAVVY MINI FOR A TODDLER

One of the pluses about having outgrown the newborn stage is that you can get away with packing very few things in your handbag. I can’t tell you how good it feels to go out and do errands with a smaller handbag. It feels so light and freeing!

Here’s what I pack in my bag for myself and my two-and-a-half year old:

  • As always, make sure you have your own stuff: keys, wallet, phone, lip balm, and sunglasses.
  • You only need to carry one diaper (or pull-up) with you and have some wipes on hand.
  • Bring a small water bottle for your child; it easily slips into our insulated pocket.
  • Don’t forget snacks! I don’t know about your children, but my daughter runs on snacks. Bring a few different ones so they can pick something out themselves.
  • Lastly, bring a simple activity for them to do. This can be useful while waiting for an appointment, going out to lunch, or even in the car. Some ideas are crayons and a small notepad, a book, a lacing activity, or some stickers. Lately, I have been seeing clear zip pouches all over - these would be perfect to house a quick activity for your toddler. Check the Dollar Spot at Target (or even go to the Dollar Tree) for quick and cheap activities.

I don’t know about you, but I am really enjoying the freedom I have while out and about with my daughter. It almost makes up for the tantrums and crying that I experience on a daily basis! Almost.
