Gift Ideas for Teachers with ToteSavvy

by ToteSavvy Team on Aug 22, 2023
Teachers play a crucial role in our children's lives. They dedicate their time and effort to educate and inspire students. Showing appreciation for their hard work and dedication with thoughtful gifts is a great way to express gratitude. Here are some gift ideas that we just know teachers will love! ToteSavvy Bag Organizer: The Key to Organization A ToteSavvy Bag Organizer is the perfect gift for any teacher. The Mini is a great option knowing it fits in most backpacks and handbags. It features an insulated cooler pocket perfect for drinks and snacks on-the-go, a key clasp, and other various-sized pockets that allow the ultimate organizing experience. The middle slip pocket is also great for their phone, a tablet, or a small notebook! Notebook: A Tool for Organization and Creativity A high-quality notebook or notepad is an essential tool for any teacher. It helps them stay organized, jot down important notes, and plan their lessons effectively. Consider gifting a notebook with a stylish cover or personalized touch to make it extra special. We also love a Clipfolio--they can take their notes on-the-go to a meeting or to the teacher's lounge! Planner: Keeping Teachers on Top of Their Game Teachers have a lot on their plate, from lesson planning to grading assignments. A planner can be a lifesaver for them. Look for a planner with ample space for daily, weekly, and monthly planning. It should also have sections for to-do lists and important dates. Reusable Water Cup: Hydration on the Go Teachers are always on the move, and staying hydrated is essential for their well-being. A reusable water cup is a practical and eco-friendly gift. We love Stanley cups because they're high-quality and will keep drinks hot or cold all day long. You can also include darling straw covers to add a special touch to their cup! Coffee Cup: Fueling Teachers' Passion Many teachers rely on a cup of coffee to kickstart their day. A personalized coffee cup with an inspiring message or their name can make their morning routine even more enjoyable. We thought these coffee cups were the cutest! Stationery, Pens & Highlighters: Make Learning Stand Out Teachers often need various stationery items to create engaging learning experiences for their students. Consider gifting a set of colorful markers or highlighters, sticky notes, or a whiteboard marker set.  Pens are another essential tool for teachers, and having a reliable set of pens can make their work easier. Look for pens with smooth writing and a comfortable grip. Consider gifting a set with different colors to add a touch of creativity to their notes and grading. These small but useful items can make a big difference in the classroom. Hand Sanitizer: Thoughtful and Practical Hand Sanitizer is one of those items that is crucial for every teacher--especially in the cooler months when sicknesses are spreading rapidly through the classroom. Grab your little one's teacher a hand sanitizer that's just for them. One they can keep at their desk and know they will have on hand when they need it the most.  Remember, when choosing gifts for teachers, it's the thought and effort that count the most. Consider their preferences and needs, and personalize the gifts whenever possible. By showing appreciation through these thoughtful gifts, you can make a teacher's day and inspire them to continue making a difference in the lives of their students. Back to School Must-Haves

by ToteSavvy Team on Aug 10, 2023
When it comes to preparing for a successful day at school, having the right backpack essentials can make all the difference. Whether you have a little one heading to elementary school or you're a college student navigating campus life, here are some must-have items to pack in your backpack. Notebooks and Pens Stay organized and ready to take notes with a few notebooks and pens. Choose notebooks with durable covers and lined pages. Having a variety of pen colors can also help you color-code your notes for better organization. Sticky notes are another great thing to toss in your backpack for reminders and notes. For the little ones, don't forget to pack pencils, a pencil sharpener, crayons, markers, a ruler, glue sticks, scissors, and even some white out! We love to organize these small backpack essentials in The Clear Pouch Trio Set. The Medium Pouch is perfect for a spare outfit, snacks, and personal items. The Small Pouch makes for a great pencil, pen, etc. case! Planner & Folder Stay organized and manage your time effectively with a planner. Write down important dates, deadlines, and assignments to stay on top of your academic responsibilities. This will help you avoid last-minute cramming and reduce stress. Be sure to grab a folder or even one for each class to keep papers and important assignments organized. Water Bottle & Snacks Staying hydrated throughout the day is crucial for maintaining focus and concentration. Keep your energy levels up with healthy snacks. Opt for portable options like granola bars, trail mix, or fruit. These will provide a quick boost when you need it most, whether it's during a long lecture or a study session. We love to pack snacks in the LunchBots Snack Container! Laptop or Tablet In today's digital age, having a laptop or tablet is essential for students. It allows you to access online resources, take notes electronically, and complete assignments. Make sure to invest in a reliable device that suits your needs. Portable Charger Don't let a dead battery hinder your productivity. A portable charger can be a lifesaver when you're on the go and need to charge your devices--especially your phone. Look for one with multiple USB ports and sufficient battery capacity. Personal Care Items Don't forget about personal care! Pack essentials like hand sanitizer, tissues, and lip balm to keep yourself clean and comfortable throughout the day. These small items can make a big difference in your overall well-being. You can even toss in some band-aids--you never know when you or a classmate might need one. Extra Clothes or Layers Be prepared for temperature changes or spills by packing an extra set of clothes or layers. This is especially important for younger students who may have accidents or get messy during art projects. It's always better to have a spare set of clothes on hand. By including these backpack must-haves, you or your little one will be well-equipped to tackle any challenges that come your way during the school day. P.S. Grab the darling Go Dash Dot Maya Backpack right on our site! Remember, being prepared is the key to success!

Diaper Bag Checklist with ToteSavvy

by ToteSavvy Team on Aug 01, 2023
Are you a new parent or soon-to-be parent? One essential item you'll need is a diaper bag. But what should you pack in it? We've got you covered with our diaper bag checklist to ensure you have everything you need for a successful outing with your little one. Stylish Diaper Bag & ToteSavvy Bag Organizer If you're new to ToteSavvy, let me introduce you to a life-changing product--the ToteSavvy Bag Organizer. When a traditional diaper bag or diaper bag backpack isn't your style, a ToteSavvy Bag Organizer can transform any handbag or tote into a stylish and functional diaper bag. Shown in this post is our Deluxe Bag Organizer with a double-wide cooler pocket. We also offer our ToteSavvy Original and the  ToteSavvy Mini. All are amazing options for organizing your diaper bag--it just depends on the functionality you need and sizing of your bag. Our most requested bag & organizer combination to use for a diaper bag is the ToteSavvy Deluxe and the Marc Jacobs The Tote Bag. It has been a viral bag combo, and we get so excited knowing you love it as much as we do! Diapers It goes without saying that diapers are a must-have in your diaper bag. Pack enough diapers to last for the duration of your outing, plus a few extras, just in case. Remember, it's better to be over-prepared than under-prepared! Wipes Wipes are a lifesaver when it comes to cleaning up messes. Make sure to pack a travel-sized pack of wipes in your diaper bag. They're perfect for quick diaper changes or wiping sticky hands and faces. Changing Pad Don't forget to include a portable changing pad in your diaper bag--the amazing thing is, all ToteSavvy Bag Organizers come with a changing pad! This handy item provides a clean surface for diaper changes, no matter where you are. Diaper Rash Cream Diaper rash can be uncomfortable for your little one. Be prepared by packing a small tube of diaper rash cream in your bag. It will provide instant relief and help prevent further irritation. Hand Sanitizer For after those on-the-go diaper changes you'll want a little hand sanitizer. Grab your favorite and be sure it's always in your bag! Tissues We're suckers for cute slim tissue packs, but boy do they come in handy. Whether your little one has a runny nose, you need to wipe away their tears, or you need a tissue yourself, a small pack always comes in handy. Teethers & Paci Clips Teethers and pacifiers can be a lifesaver when your baby needs soothing. Pack a couple of pacifiers on a paci clip and a teether or two in a Small Clear Pouch to keep them clean in your diaper bag and you'll have a secret weapon packed away when your little one needs calming while on-the-go. Spare Outfit Accidents happen, and it's always a good idea to have a change of clothes on hand. Pack a spare outfit for your baby, including a onesie, pants, socks, and a hat. You'll thank yourself later! We love these onesies from Goumi! Swaddle Blanket Whether you're swaddling your little one or you need a light-weight blanket, we love Harp Angel Swaddle blankets.  Wet Bag There's nothing worse than having a soaked through outfit or oh, gosh, a blow out filled onesie and having no where to put it while you're out. A wet bag comes in handy with those stinky outfits or even a swimsuit if you're headed to the pool or beach. Simply throw the wet/soiled clothes in the wet bag, and the wet bag will protect everything else from getting dirty/wet until you get home! Bottles & Formula If you're bottle-feeding your baby, don't forget to pack bottles and formula/breastmilk in your diaper bag. The ToteSavvy Deluxe has a double-wide cooler pocket that works wonders when transporting formula or breastmilk. We suggest popping in a small ice pack to keep your formula or breastmilk chilled. Snacks If your baby has started eating solid foods, pack some age-appropriate snacks in your diaper bag. This way, you'll always have a healthy option on hand when hunger strikes. Don't forget about a drink and a snack for yourself, too! First Aid Kit & Pill Container No matter how short the outing, an accident can always happen. Keep a travel first aid kit filled with band aids and first aid cream and pill container with extra medicines for yourself in your diaper bag. Key Fob Cover & Card Holder A key fob cover isn't an essential, but it sure does make your keys cute! What is an essential though is a card holder. Slim down your wallet and utilize a stylish card holder. It clips perfectly to the key clasp on a ToteSavvy Bag Organizer so there's no searching for your keys at the bottom of your bag. If you find yourself heading out without your little one, you can grab your keys and card holder and head out the door! Pin Me For Later! Shop the Post! 10 Postpartum Recovery Essentials

by ToteSavvy Team on Mar 23, 2023
Often times, we end up focusing more on what the baby needs versus what we need as new moms to recover. The more we focus on ourselves, especially in those first few days postpartum, the better our recovery will be, and the easier it will be to take care of that sweet newborn baby. Postpartum is not easy by any means--it's filled with blood, sweat, and tears, cause dang, postpartum hormones are crazy! We wanted to share our top 10 favorite products that will help your postpartum journey be just a little bit easier. Frida Postpartum Recovery Kit This kit from Frida Mom has so many amazing essentials that you will find helpful. We know that hospitals usually send you home with a bag full of essentials, but I personally found that the Frida Mom essentials were better than what I received from the hospital, and helped my healing. From the disposable undies, (I like to call these the fancy ones--you know, the ones you wear when family come over to visit and see the baby in those first couple of weeks) to the Frida Mom Perineal Healing Foam and cooling pads, you will want this kit. The Healing Foam is an actual game-changer, and I highly recommend grabbing an extra one--a few pumps of the Healing Foam on your pad makes everything feel just a little bit better. Clear Pouch Trio Set The Clear Pouch Trio Set is the key to keeping all of this organized. Whether you have a basket on the back of the toilet or throw everything on the bathroom counter, this set will help you keep your pads, disposable undies, tablets, and cooling kits organized so they're easy to find and grab when you need them. The best part--you can now choose from the gorgeous crème color or our brand new color--black! Frida Peri Bottle This is another one of those better than the hospital items. The one the hospital gives you doesn't quite aim the way you need it to, and it doesn't hold as much water. The Frida Peri Bottle squirts at pretty much any angle you need it, it holds plenty of water, and it helps you feel clean and fresh...since hopefully you already know, toilet paper will hurt like a mother. Frida Sitz Bath Tablets Oh, the first bath postpartum is the worst and the best all at the same time. The worst--mainly because you don't know what to expect once you hit the water, and the best, because you're finally getting your body clean and refreshed after giving birth. These Sitz Bath Tablets are pre-measured, so you can pop one in a warm bath and relax your way to postpartum healing. Always Discreet Boutique Disposable Undies You will be fabulous in your disposable undies--it's what all the postpartum moms are wearing. haha! In all seriousness, these undies make postpartum recovery so much easier. A hack to make the undies last longer is to line them with an Always Discreet Boutique Pad. This way, you switch out the pad and don't waste the disposable undies each trip to the bathroom. High-Waisted Undies When you finally feel ready to upgrade back to regular undies, these ones from Target are so comfortable and stretchy. They don't press into your stomach--especially if you've just had a C-Section. Breast Therapy Ice Packs Whether you're breast feeding or not, these Ice Packs will be a must-have--at least for the first week or so--even longer depending on your body. Definitely recommend having these on hand! Nursing/Maternity Bras You'll want to be comfy and feel supported! These nursing/maternity bras are so comfortable and there is a 6-clasp closure so you can adjust sizing based on your postpartum journey. It also has the easy-access cups for convenient access. Nursing Pads These reusable nursing pads will be a game-changer to put in your nursing bra--not only will they keep leaks confined, they will help keep your clothes from being ruined from leaking stains! Tucks Cooling Kit This cooling kit is heavenly when it comes to postpartum recovery. The pads help to cool and then cream helps to numb and soothe. There's all sorts of things happening down there, and you'll want a little numbing/soothing action. Microwavable Heating Pad You would think that the contraction-like cramps would be done after your little ones is born, but, as your body is healing and recovering, you will experience some cramping. A heating pad is so easy to toss in the microwave and it will give you some relief. Pin Me For Later! What are some items that were a must-have in your Postpartum Recovery Kit? They're made with a clear TPU material, trimmed with cream-colored vegan leather and a gold zipper. The pouches are water-resistant and can be wiped clean. Not only can you use them to pack toiletries for you and your little one, you can use them for diapers, wipes, spare clothes, and anything else you might need for baby. We love to use the small pouch in our everyday bag for makeup or even teethers and spare pacis for your little one. If you follow up on Instagram, you've seen the popular Toddler Car Kit with the Clear Pouch Trio Set--such a genius way to use them for your toddler! Boppy Pillow The Boppy Pillow can be used in so many different ways during different stages for your newborn. Whether you're nursing your sweet one or bottle feeding, it's amazing for support during feeding. Once they're a little bigger around three months old, you can use it to prop them up. The best is when they move to tummy time and try so hard to keep their head up. Then, once they've grown up oh so fast, you can use the Boppy Pillow to help them sit up. There are so many cute cover patterns, too, and having an extra cover or two is always helpful! Always remember--Boppy Pillows are never for sleep, and you should always be with your little one while using it. EllaOla Brush & Comb Set This is the cutest set that can be used from newborn through childhood. The super soft brush is made with 100% goat hair, so it can help gently brush away cradle cap and dry skin. The Massage Hair Brush is made with natural bamboo and can be used dry or wet (perfect for after bath time!) and helps to massage the scalp and promote circulation. The Rounded Bamboo Comb helps to detangle your little one's hair. All three combined create a mini spa experience for your little one right at home. The sizing is also great for everyday use and for travel! Halo Baby Bassinet Mamas--if you're looking for bassinet that allows you to sleep next to your little one, the Halo Bassinet swivels right over your bed giving you an extra close, safe sleep. One of the best features is the lowering wall that is also lockable when not in use. It's perfect for that first month or so postpartum when moving around is still a challenge--especially if you've just had a c-section. The mesh walls also give you peace of mind knowing they're breathable and safe for your little one. A fitted sheet and mattress is included, though, we recommend grabbing a few extra Halo sheets for those middle of the night blowouts and spit ups. It's honestly game changing to have a few spare sheets ready to go. Nanit Baby Monitor When it comes to your baby's sleep, monitoring them while you're away from them is always top of mind. Think about how many times you've stared at a baby to make sure they're breathing or felt under their nose to make sure you feel air, because they're in a deep sleep, and they barely move. We've all been there as parents, but the Nanit gives parents peace of mind, so you can set the monitor and let your little one sleep so you can get a little sleep, too. The breathing pattern, whether it's the included band wrapped and secured, the swaddle, or pajamas, will track your little one's breathing. It will show their breathing patterns, sleep trends, how often they wake up in the middle of the night, and even send noise alerts when they wake up. If you have two little ones, the Nanit also offers split screen so you can see two littles at once! It's perfect if you have an infant and a toddler or even twins. It's innovative technology that makes your life as a parent easier, so you can worry less about your sweet little one and enjoy as much of a restful sleep that you can.   What are your must-haves for a baby registry? Vacation & Paradise Travel It’s almost time for vacation season to begin, and we want to make sure you’re organized & ready for the fun you’re about to have! The Travel Clothing Organizer will be ideal for light-weight adult clothing, like tanks, linen shorts, bathing suits, undergarments, and even athletic leggings and sports bras. All too often, we find ourselves struggling to find the matching bathing suit set, undergarments get lost in the shuffle, and the extra tank we packed is suddenly missing in the mound of clothes we packed…but totally didn’t need. #Overpackersunite Keep your must-haves packed in the Travel Clothing Organizer and hang it up as soon as you get to your destination. This way, you can keep your smaller items organized and separate from your other clothing and essentials. The clear, zippered pockets can be used for items you’ll need quickly like sunscreen, a travel hair brush, hair accessories and touch up makeup. Weekly Clothes Planning If you have a little one, but you want to find a way to use the Travel Clothing Organizer everyday, these next two ideas are going to be mind blowing. Use it to plan your little one’s weekly outfits. Put one outfit each in the pockets for the week ahead to give your toddler and little ones more independence when it comes to getting dressed. We all know our little ones have a strong will to learn and grow, so let’s create an easy way to give them that! In the clear, zippered pockets, you can put items like their socks, undies, hair brush and hair accessories so they’re easy to reach. You’ll be sure to see their little face light up every time they choose their outfit, and you don’t have to worry about them leaving the house super mismatched! Parenting Pro Tip: Put their pajamas in the lowest drawer of their dresser to give them a little more independence in choosing their pajamas after bath time, too! Changing Station If you have a little one that’s not quite ready for outfit planning, use the Travel Clothing Organizer for your everyday benefit. You can use it to keep your changing station organized. No matter if you use it in the nursery, have it hanging in the living room or in the playroom, it’s such a convenient way to make sure you have everything you need to change your little one no matter where you are in your home. Stock up the pockets with diapers, wipes, a couple spare outfits (blowouts happen no matter where you are!) changing pad, and a swaddle. In the clear, zippered pockets, you can keep things like diaper rash cream, a spare paci & paci clip, teethers, and hand sanitizer spray. Do you have any other ideas on how you would use the Travel Clothing Organizer?! Send us a DM on Instagram to let us know!

What's In My Bag: Hannah Fastov of Go Dash Dot

by ToteSavvy Team on Feb 07, 2022
For Hannah Fastov, founder of bag brand Go Dash Dot being organized is essential to keeping her busy life running smoothly. Her line of bags and totes are brilliantly designed for life on-the-go. For an added layer of organization, she pairs the Easy Tote 2 with the ToteSavvy Deluxe Organizer. Hannah shares what she packs in her ToteSavvy on any given day.  HI! I’m Hannah Fastov, founder of Go Dash Dot and Mom to the cutest pup in the world, Carmela. I founded Go Dash Dot five years ago out of my personal quest to find one bag that could carry all my stuff (laptop, chargers, snacks, change of clothes), keep it organized, and maintain my stylish yet professional aesthetic.  Each bag is designed with a reinvented combination of pockets and compartments to provide a versatile, lightweight bag for women on the go. So you can imagine my excitement when I found ToteSavvy - the perfect partner for my Go Dash Dot tote that gives me room for even more stuff AND keeps it organized.  I am constantly running back and forth from my warehouse to my office to my at- home office to my Mom’s house (we work together!) and at some point squeezing in a workout. I do a lot in a day all of which requires a lot of stuff. I have been obsessed with using the ToteSavvy Deluxe Organizer with my Easy Tote 2. The cooler pocket, which is my favorite pocket in the ToteSavvy deluxe insert, is perfect for the chocolate RX bar I always have on me as well my favorite on-the-go breakfast - egg muffins. I also always have multiple chargers that I stash in the smaller pockets to keep them untangled and easy to find and love the padded pocket for my iPad. In the longer pockets I put a rolled up workout outfit. And then I have masks, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, toys and treats for my pup, which are each stored in its own section so it doesn’t get lost at the bottom of the bag and very accessible the moment I need them. I absolutely love my ToteSavvy and the extra organization it provides.   Packing list:  Rx Bar  La Croix (pamplemousse flavor!!!)  Water bottle  Laptop Notebook  iPad Mask Chargers  Sports bra and leggings  A toy for Carmela

New Year, New Organization

by ToteSavvy Team on Jan 05, 2022
A new year signals new beginnings and a fresh start, which is why we asked professional organizer Corinne of Grid + Glam to give us her top tips on getting organized for the year ahead.  We all deserve a well-earned round of applause for surviving another year in a pandemic. If you’re anything like me, you really can’t wrap your head around where this past year went. And despite feeling a pang of sadness at time lost, you’re so ready for a fresh year, a fresh start, a fresh you! As a professional organizer who helps busy women get organized everyday, I know all too well how difficult it has been to feel like we are on top of it all.  But it is possible! You deserve a wonderful and satisfying life, so I’m sharing my top five tips to bring the best version of yourself into 2022. Cut out all the excess A fresh start is not just about new habits, new routines, and new choices. It actually starts with cutting out everything that is no longer serving us. Think about all the things in your life that make you feel, well, blah. It might be excess clutter, a mile-long to do list, too many plans that you don’t really feel like doing. Cut it all out.  There’s tons of research showing a link between clutter and increased cortisol levels, which impact our physical health. And there’s a whole body of other research that shows how clutter negatively impacts our mental health. When we get really intentional about what we allow to stay in our lives, we free up our space and mental energy for what makes us feel really good.  Remember that if it’s not a heck yes, it’s a heck no You might be thinking, ok, that sounds great. But how do I put this in action? Try this tangible tip: when you are faced with a decision, ask yourself if this (you fill in the blank here - item, plans, food, drink, etc.) is a heck yes. If it is, then it’s meant for you. But if it’s a maybe, a sorta, an I’m not sure… then, friend, it’s a heck no. You don’t need it in your life. This simple gut check will always point you in the right direction. Make your life as easy as possible Now that you’re committed to cutting out the excess and saying “heck no” to everything that doesn't light you up, identify all the remaining pain points in your life and make simple shifts to improve them. Your day-to-day life deserves to be as easy as possible.  Are you constantly looking for your keys and sunglasses? Create a dedicated spot by your door - maybe even get a pretty tray - and start a new habit of leaving your sunglasses and keys there every.single.time you get home.  Do you love switching bags often but can’t deal with switching out your items? The Totesavvy Mini will fit in every purse you have. Fill it with your essentials, and swap it into whatever bag you're bringing that day. If you find these little pain points throughout your day and swap them out with a simple hack, you will be amazed at how much extra time and energy you create.  Adopt a weekly reset practice All the new habits and routines you’re adopting are amazing, but we all know that life gets hectic and sometimes it feels impossible to be on top of it all every day. Commit to doing a once-weekly reset to set yourself up for success long term. I love setting aside a few hours on a Sunday to tidy up the house, do some meal prep, complete a few loads of laundry, and fill up the gas tank. Most importantly, the weekly reset can truly change the way your life runs all week long. So, don’t think of this as another set of tasks to do: it’s really a gift you are giving yourself to live a more centered, satisfied life. Bring on the glam! A lot of us think that getting organized is synonymous with living with less. And in many ways that’s true. But in my world, living with less excess means more time, more space and more money for the glam life. Buy fewer, but nicer quality items that you’ll be obsessed with for years to come. Fill your life with passion and experiences, instead of stuff. Create breathing room for self-care and beauty appointments, or yoga and walks in nature. The magic of an organized life is that you get to decide what the glam life means to you, and you have the time and energy to actually create it and live it. It’s been a long year, and now is the perfect opportunity to bring a new energy into our lives. With the five steps I shared today, and the deep knowledge that you deserve a wonderful and satisfying life, I know that you are going to bring the best version of yourself into 2022! Corinne Morahan is the founder of the G+G Membership and the CEO of Grid + Glam, an organizing and media company designed to give busy women back their beautiful spaces and the breathing room they deserve. Taking Your ToteSavvy from Baby to Toddler

by ToteSavvy Team on Nov 01, 2021
Photo: @catkieun In a split-second your coo-ing, smiley baby will be running full speed into toddlerhood––leaving behind their bottle, pacifier, and maybe even diapers. There's a lot to adjust to when you're a toddler mom, especially when it comes to what you carry with you. So let us guide you through taking your ToteSavvy from baby-ready to toddler-mom survival kit.    WHAT TO SWAP // Burp clothes and bibs for Anti-bacterial wet wipes Burp clothes and bibs can be bulky to pack and aren't essential past the infant phase. What you will need (a lot of) are kid-safe hand wipes to clean up everything from sticky hands to runny noses.  Bottle for Sippy cup You're no longer tied to packing breastmilk or formula (yay!) so swap the bottles for a sippy cup of water. We recommend a non-leaking variety that's insulated to keep their water nice and cool.  Teethers and pacifier for small toys  This really depends on the child but you may be able to swap your teethers and pacifiers for small toys like toy cars, magnetic blocks, or other travel size entertainment.    WHAT TO KEEP // Diapers and wet wipes  You may be swapping your diapers for pull-ups but you'll still need some sort of diaper changing kit while on the go. You may be able to ditch the diaper creams or narrow down to a single multi-tasking product like Aquafor. Change of clothing This is ALWAYS an essential. No matter that age they are, it's helpful to have a spare change of clothing in the bag or in the car. You never know when your little one will randomly decide to go swimming in a mud puddle or have an accident.    WHAT TO ADD //  Snacks You need a ton of snacks. I don't know what it is, but snacks seem to be a huge part of keeping toddlers happy. Some things I pack are applesauce pouches, small packs of crackers, granola bars, cheese sticks, or half a P.B. & J sandwich. All of which will stay cool and fresh inside the ToteSavvy Deluxe cooler pocket.  A book There's nothing that quiets down a toddler quite like a book. I like to have one ready in case we need to calm the mood. A coloring book and small set of crayons is another great option to have on-hand.    Now that your child is a toddler, it will free up some room in your ToteSavvy for your things - hooray! Although the spacious pockets could fit everything before, now you will have a little more breathing room. Another idea is that you could "graduate" to a ToteSavvy Mini! Although smaller in size, I find that it holds everything I need.
Newborn Diaper Bag Checklist

Newborn Diaper Bag Checklist

by Kara Neff on Oct 11, 2021
The essentials that make life with a new baby easy (well, easier).  The newborn days are daunting, and whether you’re a first-time mom or genuine professional, packing a diaper bag for a newborn is a next-level experience that’s hard to perfect. That is, until now. Bags are kind of our thing, and because we’re experts on the topic, we’re here to divulge the absolute essentials that every new mom always needs to have on-hand.  Packing a diaper bag seems easy enough--until the moment you realize you are a diaper short and an outfit change down. Avoiding any potential mishaps isn’t always possible, but because hindsight is 20/20, we’re going to attempt to spare you. From every mistake we’ve made, and every experience we’ve learned from, here’s the ultimate checklist for packing your diaper bag for every single outing with a newborn baby.      THE LIST //    Diapers + Wipes + Cream Perhaps the most essential items to always accessorize your fashionable diaper bag are, well, diapers. That, plus wipes and baby ointment, are must-haves when it comes to potential blowouts (they will occur) and messes or irritation that may also ensue.  Onesie / Outfit Change Spit up is one thing, a blowout is another (see above). In addition to the diapers and wipes that you’ll need, make sure they’re always accompanied by an extra onesie or full-on outfit change. “Just in case” may as well become your new mantra for motherhood.  Hat + Socks No matter the time of year, a hat and socks provide warmth when needed, and some sun shade too. Which is important for newborns that aren’t able to wear sunscreen just yet.  Swaddles  The beauty of our removable diaper bag inserts is their versatility, which is the same reason our love for swaddles is boundless. Swaddles aren’t just relegated for nighttime use--they’re the multi-functional baby accessory that needs to be on-hand at all times. Beyond swaddling, its uses run aplenty: think burp cloth, nursing cover, a lightweight and blanket when you’re in a pinch, and so much more. Never leave home without one--or three.  Changing Pad  From park benches to public restrooms--and everywhere in between--a changing pad is another must-have that we don’t recommend leaving home without. When we created our removable bag inserts, we decided a built-in changing pad was a motherhood essential. Make sure yours is always rolled up inside your ToteSavvy before leaving home!  Pacifiers  Not every baby takes a pacifier, but for those that do, keep a few in your diaper bag at all times. With plenty of pocket storage, you’ll be able to do so easily--offering both mom and baby a chance for calm.  Hand Sanitizer  We love to keep a good hand sanitizer in one of our front pockets for easy access post-diaper change, and for everything else, too.  Food  Whether breastfeeding or formula-feeding your newborn, you’ll want to make sure you’re all set up for feeds on-the-go. In the case of breastfeeding, a nursing cover or swaddle is something you may want to have with you. If you’ve pumped and will be bottle feeding expressed milk while out, there’s the convenient ToteSavvy Deluxe with a cooler pocket for milk storage, too. And for bottle feeds, consider packing a S’well bottle with warm water and a bottle of pre-measured formula for when baby gets hungry.  Snack (for you)  Mama’s got to eat, too, especially when breastfeeding. Keep a large bottle of water nearby for hydration, and a snack bar or some dried fruit and nuts for sustenance. (Coffee doesn’t hurt either.) Our ToteSavvy Deluxe cooler is big enough for you and baby, so pack it up!  Toys  It’s never too early to engage your children with the world, and small toys are a great way to offer distractions to crying jags. Newborns aren’t particularly inclined to do much more than sleeping, but some contrast board cards or even something that hangs from their stroller is nice to keep in your bag.      With so much to remember as a new mother, and a tiny little human to maintain and care for, the last thing you need is to always be asking: “so… what do I need in my newborn’s diaper bag again?” Keep this checklist nearby, and you’ll be fine. Other than that, they just need love--and we know you’ve got a lot to give.

Packing ToteSavvy for Two!

by ToteSavvy Team on Oct 04, 2021
Photo: Leslie Osborn of Sweat Cosmetics   When you have two little ones with you, you need to pack an arsenal of necessities to predict anything and everything that could happen. For example, whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle feeding you’ll need to plan ahead for feeding your littlest (or both!) as well as plan snacks for your toddler. While newborns and infants don’t need much in the entertainment department (a teether or small toy will do the trick), toddlers need a lot to keep themselves busy so you’ll want to pack accordingly. Outside of nourishment and entertainment, there are the predictable diaper bag necessities like diapers, wet wipes, creams, etc. Sounds like a lot, right? Well, technically it is, which is why we've narrowed down our packing list to keep you ready for anything without being overloaded. Take a look through our packing checklist below. All of these items fit nicely inside the ToteSavvy Deluxe organizer. Take a look at how we suggest packing the insert below. You’ll notice we were able to pack 2 bottles for a baby and a snack tower filled with dry formula (pre-measured) and tiny cut-up snacks for a toddler. This snack tower is by Innobaby and is a true space-saver!   Inside one of the tall pockets, we’ve packed diapers (or Pull-Ups) for both kiddos. We suggest packing 3-4 for your infant and 2 for your toddler. The same pack of wet wipes can be used for both so be sure to grab a large package. Always pack an extra set of clean clothing for each child. We’ve found both newborns and toddlers go through clothing like crazy so it’s nice to have the extra outfit on hand. Both outfits can be folded and tucked inside the outer pocket of ToteSavvy Deluxe. This is the largest pocket ToteSavvy has and is roomy enough to hold 2 outfits. You’ll notice a wet/dry bag tucked alongside the organizer for any soiled clothing. A Ziplock baggie is a great dupe for this!  You’ll be glad you have this if a nasty blowout happens.   Want to see this list packed in action? Take a look at our packing video for this exact packing list. Notice how we use each pocket for its best use and don't let any space go to waste. You may also notice the coloring essentials are packed inside the laptop sleeve. This is a great pocket for slim items or even folded clothing! Take a look...      Download this packing list or watch more packing videos by following this link!

How to Pack Clothing Inside ToteSavvy

by ToteSavvy Team on Sep 13, 2021
One of the best "just in case" items you can pack inside your ToteSavvy is extra clothing. Whether you're in the newborn stage and go through new outfits every hour, are potty-training your toddler, or like to have an extra shirt on-hand for yourself, ToteSavvy will help keep clothing organized, easily accessible and in pristine condition.  At first glance it may seem like bulkier items like clothing wouldn't fit inside ToteSavvy. Thanks to Marie Kondo, we're using her technique to easily fold or roll your outfit into a perfectly-sized package––perfect for a ToteSavvy pocket.    THE TRIFOLD TECHNIQUE Made famous by the tidy master herself, this Marie Kondo technique has you fold your clothing item in thirds until it looks like a perfect little clothing rectangle. We tried the trifold on 3 different types of outfits to show you exactly how each will fit within ToteSavvy.  NEWBORN OUTFIT TODDLER OUTFIT ADULT BLOUSE   THE ROLL TECHNIQUE The roll technique is easier to master and our preferred method when time is of the essence. Simply lay your outfit on the table with each item stacked on top of the other. Then start rolling from the bottom until you have a compact outfit that mimics a sushi roll. (pro-tip: use Tidy Snaps to keep clothing neat and rolled!) Below you'll see our roll method used on 3 different types of outfits.  NEWBORN OUTFIT TODDLER OUTFIT ADULT BLOUSE

How to Pack Your ToteSavvy Like a Pro

by Lauren Kutting on Aug 30, 2021
ToteSavvy was built to make your life easier and lot more organized. Follow our tips below to get on top of your packing game and make your ToteSavvy more beneficial than ever.   Pack bulkier items across from thinner items One of the best ways to pack your ToteSavvy is with the zig zag method. You'll want to spread out the bulkier items in a zig zag pattern so they aren't in pockets directly across from one another. This helps to keep your ToteSavvy looking less bulky and feel much more balanced.  Use the cell phone pocket and key clasp The top outer pocket that's short and flat was designed to be the perfect little pocket for your cell phone. It's at the top of the insert so you can quickly grab your phone without digging through your bag. It's always right there when you need it! Same goes for the key clasp. Get in the habit of clipping your keys to the clasp to save yourself from digging around at the bottom of your bag.  Roll clothing and blankets to fit in pocket perfectly Clothing and blankets can be difficult to pack inside ToteSavvy if you don't know this little secret. Instead of packing a folded blanket or outfit, roll it so it's a perfectly shaped bundle to fit inside any pocket.  Avoid overpacking You may want to fill every pocket to the max but try to edit down what you're packing to the true essentials. You can easily refill things like diapers after each outing so instead of packing 10, opt for 3 or 4 and then just replenish as needed. The same goes for wet wipes. You may not need the giant warehouse size package of wipes when a small or medium size pack will be plenty for your all-day outing.    Designate a pocket for only your things The outer pocket (largest on both Original and Deluxe) is a great pocket to designate as your own if you're packing for more than just yourself. This pocket is large enough to even carry a small clutch which could be easily taken out for a quick run into the grocery store.  Keep the rolled mat even if you don't have a baby Whether you're changing diapers or not, the rolled mat is a great add-on. If you don't need it to function as a traditional diaper changing mat it still comes in very handy when you need something to throw down quickly. For instance, use it as a placemat for your toddler to eat their lunch on at the park, or as a mat to sit on if the grass is a little wet. The rolled mat is fully machine washable so don't worry about it getting dirty.

How Our 3 Styles Compare

by ToteSavvy Team on Aug 09, 2021
Whether you're new to ToteSavvy or have known us since the beginning, you may not know the intricate differences between our 3 styles: Deluxe, Original, and Mini. While they share some similarities, each style was designed for a specific reason and to fill a distinct need. Keep reading to learn more about each style's distinct features.  ORIGINAL We have to begin with the ToteSavvy that started it all. Original was built out of necessity when our founder, Lauren, was a first-time mom with a newborn. She developed ToteSavvy Original as an insert that would organize all of her baby's essentials and easily transfer from tote to tote.  Original has 11 total pockets. There's an insulated pocket for storing bottles or a cold beverage. The insulated pocket is open at the top like the other pockets found inside ToteSavvy. There are 4 additional tall pockets, 4 short pockets, a flat pocket (perfect for a notebook, tablet, or paperwork), a large exterior pocket with a flap that secures over the top.  Original is best suited for large or oversized totes. Its dimensions are 14"L x 10"H. The depth depends on what you pack!  SHOP ORIGINAL     DELUXE Deluxe was developed to offer handbag organization to not just moms, but all women. Deluxe is the exact same size as Original (14"L x 10"H). It's commonly misunderstood that Original is the "medium" size when in fact Deluxe and Original have the exact same dimensions.  Instead of the flat pocket on Original, Deluxe has a plush-lined laptop pocket with a magnetic flap in its place. Another difference is Deluxe has a double-wide insulated pocket that zips closed. This cooler pocket is great for storing multiple bottles, a lunch, or 4 cans of your favorite cold beverage.  Deluxe is also best suited for large totes and oversized bags. Check out our list of ToteSavvy compatible handbags for recommendations SHOP DELUXE   MINI ToteSavvy Mini was designed as a compact style for medium size bags and backpacks. It's the smallest insert we could make while still holding a lot of essentials. It also makes a great changing kit that you can quickly pull out of your bag and take into a bathroom.  Mini includes an insulated pocket (just like Original), 2 other tall pockets, 2 short pockets, and one flat pocket in the middle. This pocket is great for anything without a lot of depth. Think your phone, a notepad, small coloring book, or even a thin wallet.  Mini is best suited for backpacks and medium size bags. If you prefer to have some room around your organizer then it can be paired with a large tote.  SHOP MINI
